Penny's Comfort Foods
Penny's Comfort Foods is a high-end private restaurant founded by Vernon Green in honor of his late wife, Penny Green, who passed away in 2005. After Penny's death, Vernon opened the restaurant so customers could enjoy Penny's cooking and the food in the recipe book she left behind. The restaurant has remained open for 25 years with a good reputation. [1] [2]
Vernon runs a grant program for underprivileged students using the funds from the restaurant, and many of his grantees use the restaurant for part-time work alongside their studies.[2]
The restaurant is located in Stellis' Central Business District, with its entrance being in an alley alongside one of the District's main streets. Outside of the restaurant, there are camellia flowerbeds that Vernon planted for Penny. On the inside, the ground floor of the building was originally the first floor of Vernon's home, which was later converted into the restaurant.[3] Vernon lives in the second floor of the building, above the restaurant.
Penny's Comfort Foods has an open kitchen, where customers can watch their food be prepared. Patrons can order Seafood Tofu Soup, Veggie Delight, Pan-Fried Pork Chops, and other dishes from the menu. At the front counter, customers can fill out a feedback book as well as sign up for Penny Comfort Food's membership program. Members can redeem points for items and make reservations to avoid waiting in line. [4]
Since March 2029, Vernon and Penny's Comfort Foods have used DeliCart's paid services as a way to support Pedro.[4]
Prior to the food poisoning incident at Penny's Comfort Foods, the restaurant had two unnamed employees, one server and a caretaker, who resigned to avoid being involved in the case.
