In a flashback to his childhood,
Lowe Lear reflects on the happiness he found after being taken in by his sister,
Laura Lear, despite their poor living conditions.
In the present day, Vyn pries an introduction from Lowe. Zallie regards Lowe with open derision for unknown reasons, while Rio tries to keep the peace by interrupting Zallie and distracting him with a reminder that it's time for his medication. When Rio shows Zallie the time, Zallie becomes enraged that Rio touched his phone. Lowe refuses all attempts at socialization, choosing instead to read a book about magic tricks.
That night, Vyn performs a card-swapping magic trick to help the
