Central Business District

You: Artem, have you tried Stellis' authentic cuisine?

Artem: Hm? Authentic cuisine?

Seeing Artem's surprised look, you point at the red billboard on the second story of a building.

You: This restaurant owner is originally from Stellis and specializes in home-cooked dishes not found in big restaurants.

You: Now that we're here, do you want to try it?

Artem: Yes, I might get some cooking inspiration from the owner.

Central Business District

You: I think this 24-hour convenience store opened up after I moved here.

You: Sometimes, I'd get hungry after getting off work at midnight, so I'd grab something to eat here.

Artem: You got off work at midnight in the past?

You: (Ah... I shouldn't have said that.)

You: Only when I first started working at the firm, because I didn't know anything. I wanted to familiarize myself with the work as soon as possible, so I...

Suddenly, a pair of warm hands grab you, stopping you from finishing your sentence.

Surprised, you look up to see Artem's gentle gaze.

You: Artem?

Artem: Sorry, I wasn't paying much attention to how your work was going at that time.

You: No, it was my own decision. It had nothing to do with you.

Artem: Yes, but that's not the case anymore. From now on, I won't let you go home alone that late.

You: Then let's try to leave work together.

Hearing your answer, Artem clutches your hand tighter while smiling.

Central Business District

You: I thought it was a vending machine for drinks, but it turned out to be one selling blind boxes.

Artem: Looks like they have six kinds of stuffed animals. Want to try?

You: Of course! You should pick one too.

Artem: Okay, I'll pick the one next to yours.

  • (It's probably hard to take care of the plants hanging up there.)
  • (There are always so many customers here, at all hours of the day.)
  • (You can get unlimited coffee refills here.)

Central Business District

You: Look, Artem. A lot of customers left comments here.

Artem: Why don't we leave our own too?

You: Sure, what should we write?

Artem: Blessings, expectations, goals, or something that you want to say to someone.

You: I'll just write what I want to say to you.

Artem: ...

Artem: There might not be enough room, so I'll just choose the things I want to say the most.

Central Business District

You: There are so many small cakes! Which one should I choose?

Artem: If you can't decide, then why don't we buy them all?

You: But I won't be able to finish them.

Artem: It's fine. Just pick your favorite and leave the rest to me.

You: ...

You: I have an even better idea. I'll just pick my favorite, and come back another time to try the others.

Artem: Sounds like a plan.

You: Then it's settled!

Central Business District

You: (I didn't expect there to be the latest copy of the Legal Daily here.)

You: (I haven't read it yet, so I'll take this chance to flip through it.)

You: (A quick look at Stellis law firms? Themis Law Firm is on here... In the end, Celestine still used Artem to advertise.)

You: (I'll buy a copy later for my collection.)

Central Business District

Staff: Hello, how may I help you?

You: Hello, I would like to make a reservation for this afternoon at 3 PM.

Staff: Just a moment, let me check our availability for you.

The employee looks down intently at the information on her computer. After a while, she looks up again.

Staff: Sorry, Miss. We already have a reservation for 3 PM.

Staff: How does 2 PM sound?

You: (If it's earlier, we might have to rush through lunch. But, I'm sure it'll be fine.)

You: Okay, 2 PM it is then.

Staff: Very well, I've booked your reservation. See you at 2 PM.

You: Thank you.

Central Business District

You: (There's quite the collection of books here.)

You: (There are some rare film books.)

You: (I'll check it out later.)

You: (I might even read a review by Mockingbird.)

You: Wow, there are so many cats.

When you two were planning, Artem suggested that he wanted to play with cats, so you searched for the highest-rated cat cafe experience.

However, standing in front of the glass window, Artem seems hesitant.

Artem: Hmm...

You: What is it?

Artem: Nothing, I'm just worried about what I'll do... if the cats don't like me.

You: Pfft!

Artem's response is too cute for you to handle, and you burst out laughing.

To comfort him, you slip your fingers between his and hold them firmly.

You: It's okay. Even if the cats ignore you, you still have me.

Artem: ...Oh.

You: It's almost time for our appointment. Let's head inside.

You finally urge Artem to go inside the cat cafe with you.

To avoid the embarrassment of not having any cats come over, you and Artem find a secluded corner.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Artem sits down, the cats playing on the cat trees start heading in your direction one after another.

One of the bolder Ragdoll cats jumps directly into Artem's arms, preparing to find a comfortable spot.

Artem: ...

Artem doesn't know how to deal with the sudden enthusiasm. He lifts his hand, hesitant about whether to touch it.

His popularity takes you by surprise. An inexplicable surge of jealousy rises within you. You don't hesitate to pick up the Ragdoll cat in Artem's arms.

You: That spot doesn't belong to you.

Artem: ...

Your claims over Artem cause him to laugh.

Pouting, you glance at the empty seat in front of him and take your place there.

However, you lose your balance and your body falls backward into Artem's embrace.

Artem: Careful! Are you hurt?

You: No... No, it doesn't hurt.

The cat you were holding in your arms meows a few times before fleeing, your back still resting against Artem's chest.

You look up at him, locking eyes with Artem as your heart beats faster and faster. Artem's hair falls on your nose, tickling it.

Artem: Were you... jealous of the cat?

You: N-No...

Artem: We won't be coming here again.

You: Eh? Why not?

Artem: Because...

Artem looks at you, wrapping his hands around you as a gentle kiss lands on your forehead.

Artem: Because I'd rather have you around than be surrounded by cats.

The nearby cats who still refused to leave gradually start to disperse, perhaps having understood what Artem said.

You: Me too. When I saw them trying to take my place next to you, I...

You: (My heart was aching for some reason...)

Artem seems to know what you're thinking and hugs you gently.

Artem: No, the place by my side is forever reserved for you, and only you.

His words sounded almost like a promise, stamping out whatever indescribable jealousy you had left, leaving only warmth.

You can't help but throw your arms around his neck to show him what you're feeling at this moment.
