The Main Character awakens in a dangerously hot sauna, with a masked man who says his true target had been Felicia Luo. He interrogates the MC about Brad Gries' death, but she reveals nothing and is locked inside until she decides to talk. As the temperature climbs steadily past 50 degrees, she begins to accept her fate and tries to think of a message she could burn into her arm with the sauna's tools as a clue.
At the last moment, Vyn and Ogier Wechsler arrive. Vyn pretends not to know her as he saves her, ordering the bodyguards around with cold authority and stealthily directing her to threaten him. He finds time to quietly explain the situation: they are in the underground facilities of a black market auction, and she must win a bid before the end of the night or be forced to leave something important behind. Ogier gives her a mask and leads her away to the first floor, directing her toward Artem. The MC's messy state draws attention, and Artem directs her to follow him.
