Summary

Outside of Gerard Boone's home, Luke prepares to send the main character a copy of Gerard's case file when he drops his phone -- the second such incident today. The file includes an incident in which Gerard intervened on behalf of Nurse Skye Harper in a patient altercation, which doesn't seem to make sense with his later assault on her. They decide to speak to the perpetrator in that case the next day; the MC wishes to continue investigating, but Luke is adamant about sending her home so he can investigate the chaotic night stalls alone.

Back at home, the MC examines Gerard's mother's suicide notes. Finding them oppressive and controlling, she calls Vyn for guidance, who agrees with the MC's assessment. After hanging up, Vyn has an extremely hostile exchange with an unidentified visitor.

The MC phones Luke with her discovery, speculating that the person Gerard met on the night of his escape might have been his mother, although that would mean she would have to be either unexpectedly alive or a spirit. While reassuring the MC, Luke cuts the call short and falls into a coughing fit. He attacks a figure that approaches him in his moment of weakness before realizing it's Aaron Yishmir. Aaron suggests a detailed checkup when Luke confesses to loss of control of his right arm and paranoia.

Based on the case file, Gerard had many records of theft and fraud. As he was a minor, the police could only warn him and ask his guardian to educate him.
The file also contains an inquiry record, which proves that Gerard was accidentally injured in a conflict between Nurse Harper and a patient's family member, Macho Mann. He was trying to protect the nurse. During this incident, Gerard didn't fight back or overreact.
