Summary

Having caught up to the present, Darius Morgan gives the main character and Artem access to Naomi Anderson's case file and relevant evidence. Of special note is the fact that the drug in Naomi's system appeared to be a new experimental drug, casting doubt on the police's theory that the low-level dealer apprehended at the scene was involved despite the fact that all the other evidence in the case lines up.

The MC thinks back to the previous day at Jovi Vance's apartment, in which she'd asked for more information about Naomi's social circle and learned of Jerry Jones, Naomi's boyfriend. Darius finds Jerry unsuspicious due to an apparent good relationship between the two, hoping instead the pair will be able to find evidence linking Ava Kendricks to the murder, but gives Jerry's address anyway as the process to see Ava will take some time due to her high-profile case.

Notes: After examination, the drug that caused her death was different from the usually banned substance. There are red scratches on the outside of the victim's right wrist, which may have been caused by fingernails or other sharp objects. There are no other obvious signs of trauma.

Results: The trace amounts of banned substances found in the syringe are a match for the substances found in the victim's body. This syringe was used to inject the substance into her body. Besides the victim, there are no other fingerprints on the syringe.

New Banned Substance

The cause of Naomi Anderson's death is a new type of banned substance. It's not easily stored and becomes coagulated when damp. Its potency is a few times stronger than normal, with a unique fragrance.

Scratches on Wrist

The medical examiner concluded that the narrow scratch marks on the outside of Naomi's wrist are ordinary wounds that may have been caused by nails or other sharp objects.

Dent on the Syringe

The dent on the syringe that Naomi used is located on the topside of the syringe. There are markings on the dent, it doesn't seem like it was made from something smooth.
