Little Girl: Mommy, mommy!
Orphanage Staff: Hana, that's Miss [Player].
Little Girl: Where did mommy go? *sobs* Mommy...
You: (... Did she mistake me for her mother?)
Vyn: The files are ready. Let us go to the File Room.
You: Okay. By the way, isn't this orphanage your regular booth for the free clinic? Why do you need to read the files every time?
Vyn: Well, children develop fast. Their physical and mental conditions are constantly changing. It is important to keep up to date with the latest information.
You: I see... Shall we?
You: What are you doing? Why did you put the turtle and the bunny together?
Boy: This is Ming's bunny, and this is my turtle. They are going to race!
Boy: My turtle has beaten the bunny, but Ming said it was best of 3 according to the rules...
Boy: Hmph, he's just playing the fool. We'll see what he has to say when my turtle wins again!
You: Okay... I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Boy: I don't want doctors! I want to play with The Dragon. He is waiting for me!
Vyn: The reason why The Dragon in Cosmic Warriors is always so powerful is that he goes to Dr. D's regularly for care.
Vyn: Do you not want to be as sharp as The Dragon?
Boy: ...Fine.
You: Vyn, I didn't know you watched children's cartoons like Cosmic Warriors...
Vyn: It is very popular lately. I have been hearing a lot about it from my young patients.
Vyn: Knowing more about my patient's preferences allows me to communicate with them better.
You: Smart. No wonder you say that getting to know someone's life is the first step in communication.
Little Girl: Miss [Player], my sister hasn't been eating much lately, and she doesn't like to play with toys anymore. Is she sick?
You: Don't worry. The doctor is examining her. Do you want me to hang out with you for a while?
Little Girl: Okay...
You: Many of the children here are disabled. They must have a lot more difficulties in life than us...
Vyn: They do. Most of them have congenital disorders, which may be why they have been abandoned by their parents.
Vyn: What we can do now is to minimize the probability of any mental conditions from forming and ensure their well-being.
You: Sounds like a plan...

You: Excuse me, is it really possible to catch a fish with a hook and no bait?
Fishing Young Man: Who said I'm fishing for fish?
You: Oh?
Fishing Young Man: Have you heard of the saying "fishing for opportunity?" I'm waiting for Pax to send me an offer!
Fishing Young Man: I'm one of a kind, and Pax must want me very badly. Once I join them, I'll be out of your reach!
You: (Huh? Is that how it's supposed to work...?)
You: (...Anyway, I guess I'll just wish him success.)

You: Huh? Girlfriend?
Boy: Mm-hmm. I asked Jenny to be my girlfriend, but she said no. She told me that girls like smart boys, like the top five in class...
Boy: I finally got fifth place in my final exams this time but she said she preferred a boy called Liam in the fifth grade. *Sobbing*
You: (Wow, children of this age are already facing relationship problems...)

Boy: How can I get Hana to be my girlfriend?
You: (Huh? Last time he told me he liked a girl named Jenny... Now it's Hana?)
Boy: Hana likes soccer players. I'll start practicing every day from now on. Do you think she will like me?
You: Well...
Vyn: If you really want to do so, then give it a try. You will have no regrets if you do so.
Boy: Hmmm... Okay. I trust you.
You: ...
You: It's your turn to take the college entrance exam next year. Are you stressed with your studies?
Girl: No. I have a clear goal in my mind.
Girl: Dr. Richter has been doing the free clinic for years. My brother used to have nightmares all the time, and Dr. Richter helped him.
Girl: So I want to be a psychiatrist. Of course, it would be great if I can join Dr. Richter's clinic.
You: That's great! I'll be cheering for you!
Location End Script
Vyn: Have all the children left?
You: Yes. The free clinic has come to a successful end!
Today is the last day of volunteering at the orphanage.
Vyn has finished all the consultations scheduled. It's finally quiet in the clinic with just you and Vyn.
Vyn: How do you feel? Tired?
You: A little bit, but I'm happy that I could do something for the children here.
You: Look, they gave me this.
You happily take out a glass jar full of colorful origami from your bag and hand it to him.
There are all kinds of origami - stars, butterflies, airplanes, and so on.
Vyn checks out the jar and reads the crooked words on the colored paper tied to the mouth of the jar.
Vyn: "Thank you. I wish you a happy day every day..." This is their way of showing appreciation.
You: I know. I'll treasure it.
You can't help but feel a little emotional when you think of their happy faces in the past few days.
You: I didn't know that chatting with them and playing games with them would make them so happy...
You: When you invited me to come along, I was worried I would mess things up.
Vyn: Now, you have proved that you are irreplaceable.
He opens the clinic records on the table and shows them to you one by one.
Vyn: Compared to the previous experience, it was more efficient this time.
Vyn: I believe it was because of your infectious enthusiasm.
You: My infectious enthusiasm?
Vyn: Yes. Specifically, your ability to love and be there for others.
Vyn: The children here did not get to grow up in normal families. They lack the love from their families, so they are extra eager for it.
Vyn: Also, they are more likely to have psychological disorders, which is why I volunteered to run a free clinic here in the first place.
Vyn: I want to learn more about such cases in order to help prevent similar situations from happening.
Vyn: But... there are areas where I am lacking, as a researcher.
He pauses and smiles somewhat helplessly.
Vyn: Because of my past, I do not consider myself to be someone who can be a gentle companion to others.
Vyn: However, showing empathy is a more effective approach when it comes to children.
You: Empathy?
Vyn: Yes. It is hard for me, but not for you.
Vyn: I am sure the therapy will be more effective with you by their side.
You: So... Did I achieve the goal?
Vyn: Yes, and much better than I expected.
Vyn: Every time they were with you during the session, they would open up.
Vyn: And every time we leave, they would hold onto your hand, not wanting you to go...
Vyn: There are many more happenings like these and they are the reasons that I believe in you.
You: Is that why you wanted me to come along?
Vyn: Partially.
The sunset shines through the glass into his eyes, reflecting a soft glow.
Vyn: There is also a personal reason... I want to be with you 24/7.
Vyn: Could you come with me again next time?
As your eyes meet, you read each other's minds.
You take his hand and nod solemnly.
You: Of course. Anytime!
