General[edit | edit source]

Wesley Dunn is a middle-aged psychology professor at Stellis University who has been described as gentle, reliable, approachable, accommodating, and a good lecturer. He wears a talisman under his jacket that jingles in the breeze.[2] Wesley's history is obscured from public files, leading to suspicion that he comes from a very special background but was abandoned by his family. Prior to university, his education is noted to be highly prestigious, but his files note he was bullied during his time at these schools.[3]

After a protracted and difficult investigation, Wesley was discovered to have been the "You-Know-Who" teaching Stellis pickup artists their techniques. Through this alternate identity, Wesley was revealed to have a high need for control, demanding his students report their progress to him continuously and restricting their freedom of how they could pass on his teachings.[4] His techniques were developed and practiced on his first target, Lune Edwards, who rejected him after he'd fallen in love with her at first sight. After he drove her to suicide, Wesley never targeted other women with his techniques, but he recruited other men and passed them on, recommending Lune's classmates be targeted to each of the men who completed his PUA courses.[5]

Wesley goes to Stellis TV Tower every year on the same day to place a lock on its fence in Lune's memory, which is rare among visitors to the attraction. Further, on every important occasion since her death, he comes to the locks and speaks to them as if speaking to Lune, earning him a reputation among the staff as "that weird guy."[6] Despite these behaviors painting a picture of underlying regret, Wesley admits that he relishes in watching ordinary people struggle to escape their fate,[7] and that humans and their hearts are just pawns to be manipulated.[8]
