Story Summary

Vyn invites the main character to watch a polo match and go riding, and the two go to a tailoring shop to have a custom riding outfit made. The tailoring shop owner treats his previous customer with impatience and quotes a 6-month turnaround time, but he drastically changes his demeanor upon seeing Vyn, becoming respectful and promising to have the outfit completed within the week, which the MC makes note to ask him about. The next day, the MC takes a taxi to the polo grounds, but the taxi is late, and Vyn doesn't pick up his phone when she tries to let him know.

The main character arrives at the polo field and is surprised to find the reason she's having difficulty contacting Vyn is that he's one of the players in the match. Vyn explains that the match simply began early due to threat of rain, then he catches her up on the state of the match: it's halftime, and his team is behind. The MC thinks this isn't surprising given her impression of his athletic capability, but she tries to deny having this opinion of him when he guesses what she's thinking.

Having guessed the MC's estimation of his abilities, Vyn defiantly promises to win for her. As the match resumes, a woman in the stands teaches the MC more about polo, noting the other team is from the Kingdom of Svart and that there are members of the royalty among them. The second half ends with the score tied, and the game is extended as the big screen focuses on a conflict between Vyn and another player on the field.

Vyn clashes with a player named Ragnar, who calls Vyn "Vilhelm," sparking a conflict that hints at history between them. Ragnar is enraged to the point of attacking Vyn, causing the referee stops the match, and Vyn approaches the MC, lying to her about its cause when she asks if he's hurt.

The referee attempts to award Vyn's team the trophy for the match, but Vyn declines, not wishing to win the game in such a distasteful manner. A rematch is agreed to, and Svart performs poorly, leading to a victory for Vyn's team. After Vyn receives his congratulations, the two attempt to leave the field to go horseback riding, but Ragnar reignites the conflict from the field, challenging Vyn to a duel. Vyn ignores this until Ragnar insults the MC, then he accepts on the condition that Ragnar apologizes when he loses.

Vyn and Ragnar agree to a dressage competition. Vyn and the MC pretend to be frightened that Ragnar will fail to control his horse, and Ragnar takes his turn as Manfred plays the violin to satisfy the music requirement for the display while Vyn explains dressage to the MC and points out Ragnar's failings. During his turn, the MC plays the violin, and Vyn easily wins. Ragnar storms away, but Manfred apologizes on his behalf.

Vyn and the MC finally go horseback riding together, with Vyn having the MC sit side-saddle on his horse like a royal lady, until the rain that forced the polo match to begin early starts to fall. After she gets home, Vyn calls the MC and admits that Vilhelm had been his name before coming to Stellis, and that the players from the other team had been his classmates in the past but that they were not on good terms. The two make plans to go riding again soon.
