Sharon Iams[TL note 1] is a client of Themis Law Firm and immigrant to Stellis, having originally come to the city to study at Stellis University. She met her husband at the university, married him the year they both graduated at age 22, and registered as a resident of Stellis. Sharon's parents, who live out-of-state, did not approve of her relationship and severed ties with her because of the marriage. She resigned from her job shortly after marrying her husband, but she has a passive income from renting out a property in Stellis that her parents bought her while she was attending school.[3]
The relationship between Sharon and her husband deteriorated severely, and she became a victim of domestic violence of "shocking" severity in 2030. After four calls in six months[3] in addition to other incidents in which she went to the hospital but not the police,[4] Darius Morgan put Sharon in contact with Artem Wing and the main character to try to determine the reason for and cut through her resistance to legal proceedings, as the law in Stellis dictates an abuse victim must proactively choose to file suit against an attacker.[3]
After the danger of her situation was pointed out in detail and her fears of retribution were eased, Sharon agreed to hire Themis as her legal counsel for a divorce proceeding. She was set up with many aid and welfare programs[5] and eventually chose to pursue a large settlement in exchange for keeping the case out of criminal court in order to punish the thing he cared about most deeply--his money--and eliminate chances of future harassment.[6]
Sharon's clothing is noted to be conservative and worn,[3] and she wore a mask at all times until her mental state improved after separating from her husband. She has hobbies in the fields of new media and video production.[4]
