Old Fisherman: Haha! This much is child's play!

You: We should have come at night...

Luke: Don't be sad. We can come back on our next day off to watch it.

You: Let's do that!

Park

Girl: Excuse me, could you help us take a picture?

You: Sure!

Girl: Great, thanks!

Girl: Wow, it's a great shot. I can take a photo of you two as well if you want.

You: That'd be great. Thanks a lot!

Park

You: We should have brought Peanut with us. He would have been so happy to be with his own kind.

The swan boat sways to the center of the lake, standing out as the only white object on the lake.

The shimmering lake reflects the clouds and a gentle breeze blows through, creating beautiful ripples.

You: We finally got to the center!

Luke: If I hadn't adjusted the direction in time, we'd still be spinning in place.

You: ...

Recalling the words you said when you first boarded the boat, you are a little embarrassed.

Natural Park (Flashback)

You: Luke, let me do it. I can do this!

Luke: Really? If you need help, just let me know. I don't mind.

You: Thanks, but I don't need help.

You hold the steering wheel with one hand and excitedly pedal the boat.

It's your first try, but you're confident in your own abilities.

But the swan boat doesn't move forward in the route you thought it would...

You: (Huh? Why is it spinning in place!?)

You: (This can't be. I've turned on the directional control valve. It shouldn't be like this...)

You: (Oh no, did I pick a broken boat?)

You anxiously get up to take a look, causing the boat to rock even more. Thus, falling into Luke's arms.

Luke: Watch out! Sit still.

Luke steadies the steering wheel and helps you get back into your seat.

He turns the wheel and signals you to move your feet off the pedals until the swan boat gradually returns to its initial state.

He examines you carefully to see if you're hurt. Then, he checks the boat.

Luke: Are you okay?

You: I'm okay. Thank goodness you're here with me.

Luke: We almost got ourselves soaked.

You: I'm sure I turned on the directional control valve and I had full control of the wheel, but the boat was still spinning in place...

You: Did I choose a faulty boat?

Luke shakes his head and gently pats your back.

Luke: It's not your fault. This boat is special. Its operation is not quite the same as ordinary boats.

Luke: See this puller here? It is for subtle directional adjustments.

Following the direction Luke is pointing at, you see a joystick under the seat.

Luke: This boat model generally needs more practice to maneuver. It is difficult to control alone.

You: I did not expect a swan boat to be so complex. It was too careless of me to simply assume.

Luke: Looks like I'm taking the wheel again, just like before.

Luke: How about I lead us in the right direction, and we slowly pedal forward together?

You: Sounds good!

Natural Park (Present)

You: It's my first time on a swan boat...

You: I didn't know it had so many models.

Luke: Right. We wanted to take the boat by ourselves when were kids, but we were not allowed to.

You: We were way too young. We didn't even reach the boat's height, let alone being capable of pedaling the boat forward.

Luke: We are grown-ups now. So, are we here today to make up for our regrets in the past?

Luke gives you a sideways glance. There is a little bit of sweat on the tip of his nose.

You take out a tissue and naturally reach out to wipe it for him.

You: Sort of, but not just because of that.

You shove the tissue into his hand and shake your head mysteriously.

Luke: ...

Luke: I've got it!

Luke: Swans are birds of the Anatidae family within the genus Cygnus. They bond for life, which is quite rare in animals.

Luke: They work and rest together.

Luke: So to us humans, swans represent loyalty and ever-lasting love.

Luke: [Player], you're trying to tell me that we're like swans, right?

You: ...

You: I guess having a knowledgeable boyfriend isn't always a good thing. You just finished everything I wanted to say.

*Whoop*

A loud whoop comes from not far away. You and Luke immediately turn to look in that direction.

On the lake, a pair of white swans are combing their feathers with their beaks.

You: Luke, look! Swans!

Luke: This is the first time I've seen swans here.

You: I thought the swans were all done migrating. This is incredible.

Luke: There is a legend in this park.

Luke: They say that you wil be blessed if you meet a swan while riding in a swan boat.

Luke: And that if it's a couple, their love will last forever.

You: Huh? This swan boat ride has a legend? Are you sure you aren't just making it up?

Luke: Of course, it's true. I never lie.

You: That's great. So are they here to give us their blessings?

Luke: They must be. We are now certified by the swans as faithful and lifelong companions.

You: Yes... Faithful and lifelong companions.

You and Luke look at each other with your hands clasped together.

He presses his forehead to yours and rubs the tip of his nose against yours.

The slight tingle it brings makes you chuckle.

The gentle sun shines on the shimmering lake as the swans hug each other by the neck...
