Luke: You should eat more. You are too thin!

You: Don't look at me. Help yourself. They're good!

Luke nods with a smile and lifts his hand to gently swipe the crumbs off your lips.

Orchidshine Street

You: Luke, try this one. It's amazing!

Luke takes a bite from your hand. You are surprised, but you don't pull your hand back.

Luke: Mmm, perfectly sweet.

Orchidshine Street

Luke: [Player], do you remember the game we used to play when we were kids?

Luke winks at you and lifts his hand to shape a rabbit which casts a shadow on the screen.

You: Didn't I teach you this one? You still remember it?

Luke: Of course. I remember every word of yours.

You: Wow, candied fruit!

Vendor: Would you like one?

You: Sure. Should I get strawberry or hawthorn... They both look delicious.

You: Nevermind... One of each please! Thank you!

Orchidshine Street

You: Hmm, I'm sure the dessert shop is in this neighborhood.

You: Luke and I came here often, but I didn't bother to remember the way...

Orchidshine Street

You: What a cute puppy. Is she sunbathing?

Luke: Do you remember the stray puppy out on the streets when we were kids? Don't they look alike?

You: They do. They both like to lounge around in the winter sunshine and sunbathe in the doorway.

You: Oh, she gave birth to a litter of pups a few years ago! She is officially a mother now.

You: Let's go back there and visit her. What do you say?

Luke: Sounds good!

Orchidshine Street

You: It's a beautiful day. The sun is so warm and comfy!

Luke quietly tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear.

Luke: Every day with you is a sunny day for me.

You: Guess what we are here for?

Luke: This is the Old District... So we must be here for the view.

You: Nope. That'll be a one-mark deduction. Come on, Detective Pearce, use your imagination.

Luke: I was wrong? Seriously?

Luke: Hmm... Are we here to learn about marriage customs?

You: Wha-

Your cheeks redden slightly even though you know he's just making fun of you. You don't know what to say.

Luke gently boops your nose and tussles the hair in front of your forehead.

Luke: All right, I'll stop teasing you. I'm entirely at your disposal.

Luke gives his hand to you, looking rather cooperative.

You: ...

You: Come with me.

You lead Luke to a street stall and sit down by a clean table.

A moment later, a bowl of steaming hot sweet congee and some delicious desserts are served.

You: Give it a try, Luke!

Under your watchful gaze, Luke takes a spoonful of the thick and sweet congee...

Luke: ...!

Luke: Hmm. It tastes familiar, just like the one made by the old lady on the old street last time.

Luke: Didn't she move away after we started high school? What's going on...

Luke gives the shopkeeper a quick glance.

Luke: Are they related? But they don't look alike.

You: I asked the same question. It turns out that the shopkeeper and the old lady are not related.

You: Anyway... doesn't it taste similar to the one we used to have?

You: It took me a long time to find this place.

You: I've tried a dozen places recently, just to find the taste of our childhood...

You: My poor empty wallet...

Hearing your words, Luke's hand which is holding the spoon pauses mid-air...

He hurriedly puts down the spoon in his hand, holds your shoulders, and looks you up and down.

Luke: You fool... What if you had a stomachache from all that congee?

Luke: Do not ever do that again!

You: I knew what I was doing. Plus, I had Kiki to share them with me.

You: And, doing anything for the person I love is not foolish at all!

You purse your lips slightly to express your displeasure.

Luke: I understand. I know that all too well.

Luke: Of course, it's not foolish to do things for your loved ones, but...

Luke: Promise me that you'll let me be your taste-tester next time. You know how much I can eat. It'll be no problem!

You: Okay, next time for sure.

As he leans slightly toward you, your shadows snuggle up to each other.

You both look each other in the eye, with only the reflection of each other in your eyes.

Time stops here and now when your hearts are so closely intertwined...
