Rayan Blakeley is a performer in an award-winning touring musical theater troupe. His most recent role is that of the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, playing opposite Crystal Wu's Christine. His interpretation and performance of the Phantom focuses on his love for Christine, hoping his audiences will remember the character's love more than the madness and selfish actions that drove the two apart.[2]
During his time in the troupe, Rayan developed feelings for Crystal, but when he confessed his love to her, he discovered that she had a mental condition that left her waiting for a real "Phantom" to reveal himself and his love for her. Afterward, Rayan assumed the identity of the Phantom via a secret email messaging client, sending Crystal coded messages and photos of flowers and scenery in hopes that he could make her happy. Aware that this arrangement got him nothing in return, he stated that "if she can't accept the real me, then I don't mind becoming someone that she likes."[3]
Rayan is from the same city as fellow troupe member Ein Blair, and touring hotel arrangements saw the two sharing a room, which led to Ein's discovery of Rayan's strange relationship with Crystal during their most recent tour.[2]
