Marius: You're still up. Are you waiting for me? Sorry, something happened at the tea garden and I need to handle it. I might not be able to come back tonight.
Marius: Yeah, I'll make it up to you tomorrow. Let me think... There's an elephant cruise and float performance. Besides these unique Ganrye events, what else do you want to do?
Marius: You only want me to tell you a story? All right, what do you want to hear?
Marius: "Anything is fine" is difficult to work with... All right, I'll tell you a story about the origin of the Waterlight Festival. Ahem, here it goes.
Marius: It's said that a long time ago, there was a loving couple in Ganrye. Their love was blessed by all except the king, who was the only person who opposed it.
Marius: Unknown to others, the king also had a crush on the girl. So, he took her away and hid her in a place where nobody could find her. Then, he said to the boy...
Marius: "Unless stars fall from the sky and land in the river, you will never find her."
Marius: The boy asked everyone for help, but still couldn't find a way to make the stars fall into the water.
Marius: But one night, when the river water rose and the moon was bright in the sky, the Water Deity came to him.
Marius: She told the boy to build a boat with the toughest banana leaves, make a candle with the most expensive wax, and use his own eyes as the wick.
Marius: When the candle burned, the rivers and the seas seemed to overflow with stars. The Water Deity followed the boat and strolled through Ganrye, finally finding the missing girl.
Marius: The end? Well, the girl and the boy got together again, of course. And in order to commemorate the Water Deity, the people began celebrating the "Waterlight Festival."
Marius: By the way, lots of people believe that the Water Deity was in love with that boy. That's why she was willing to make his wish come true at the cost of her own life.
Marius: Me? Actually... I don't like the story. Let alone the complexity of the setting, if it were me, I would've just confessed my affection.
Marius: You can never know the result without saying the words, right? You and I should know that well.
Marius: Huh? I didn't realize how late it is. Go to sleep, Miss. Goodnight.
