Summary

In his room, Jerome Adams confirms on the phone with an unknown caller that Lowe Lear is not aware of their organization and suggests allowing the NXX Investigation Team to capture Lowe. He also implies he has taken whatever Lowe brought to the ship and will return with it.

At breakfast on the second day of the cruise, the guests' mingling is interrupted by the discovery of Zallie's body in his room. Count Carl performs an autopsy and determines that Zallie has been dead since at least 8 PM the previous night, with no obviously fatal injuries. His initial conclusion is that the death was not suspicious.

Surveillance from the previous night shows the only people who entered the room before Zallie's death was Rio, who insisted Zallie was fine when he left at 6:30, and a stewardess who delivered seasickness medication at 7:30. Lowe questions whether the initial conclusion can be trusted; the captain says no one with a police background is aboard, and Jerome suggests Vyn and the Main Character conduct the investigation. Vyn agrees and directs the ship captain to turn the ship back to Stellis Harbor, which would effectively cancel the auction for which most of the passengers had assembled.

Presumed Cause of Zallie's Death I

According to preliminary tests, Zallie probably died suddenly for some reason after he got drunk. And the lump on his head was caused by falling onto the ground.

Zallie's Situation at 6:00 PM

Rio met Zallie at 6:00 PM and stayed in the room for about half an hour. Rio was still fine at that time.

Zallie's Situation at 7:30 PM

At 7:00 PM, Zallie said he felt nauseous and had a headache. When the stewardess brought him the seasickness medicine, he was already showing obvious signs of discomfort, yet he kept drinking.

Presumed Time of Zallie's Death

Zallie probably died around 7:30 to 8:00 PM.
