In the present day (2030), Artem and the main character discuss Naomi's death with Darius Morgan, whose primary suspect is Ava Kendricks, against whom he cannot find enough evidence for a conviction.
As the MC recalls how they came to investigate the case, a memory of a meeting at NXX HQ comes to mind, in which the team chooses to move forward in various ways--Marius will investigate Tyson Turner's acute gastric cancer, Vyn and Luke will trace the data going through Heirson Medical Centers and fitness bands to track contaminated medications on the market, and Artem and the MC will investigate Simon Bloodworth via a package sent just before his disappearance.
