The main character suggests to Artem that Gordon's lawyer and the Grant family doctor, Dr. Denard, seem suspicious due to their role in providing the motive for this murder. She suggests they may be trying to cover for the disappearance of Simon Bloodworth in NXX-011, since Gordon would have been one of their last leads on Simon. Artem says they can look into these two at another time as Joanne is brought for questioning. Joanne reveals that she once had pharmaceutical knowledge from her time in school, but she claims to have forgotten all of it through disuse during her time as Gordon's assistant. The MC gets the sense through the questioning that Joanne sees Joey as a burden and path to riches that she has no time to care for. When Artem explains that most of the Grant Estate assets passed directly to Harry through Gordon's late wife, Joanne becomes enraged over the time and youth Gordon stole from her with his lies.
