Summary

Pedro Brooks enters Penny's Comfort Foods and is placed on the defensive when he finds Vernon Green in conversation with the main character, whom he recognizes from Themis Law Firm. He continues to pressure Vernon to buy DeliCart's premium services while accusing him of having forged the evidence found in the investigation, then goes on an unhinged rant blaming Vernon for having given him the dreams that led him to want to stay in the hyper-competitive Stellis City, which pushed him to the abusive environment of DeliCart. Luke records their conversation in hopes of obtaining evidence for the trial, and Vernon, on the verge of a heart attack from the incident, agrees to hire the MC as his defense attorney and cut ties with Pedro.

Luke and the MC walk to Luke's nearby shop to extract the memory card from Vernon's broken surveillance camera, finding proof that Pedro was present in the restaurant on the day of the contamination but not proof that he actually committed the act.

Pedro came to the restaurant, attempting to sell DeliCart's premium services to Vernon. He admitted that he would reach his sales target if Vernon signed up for the premium services.

Theory 1

Pedro needed to make large sales to reach his target. When his hard sell to Vernon failed, he had every reason to force Vernon's hand via the extreme methods commonly utilized by DeliCart.

Theory 1

When Pedro came to the restaurant, it was vacant and the spring water had already been delivered. Pedro had ample time to tamper with the dispenser and water.
