According to Joshua, the undiscovered gold was hidden in a deep underwater cave on the island.
It was hidden by the second-in-charge of the gang, and Joshua only knows the rough location.
During his time in prison, he confirmed two possible sites by studying the riddle left behind.
He checked off one site, so it's very likely that the other is your intended destination.
You: Do you think Joshua was telling the truth?
Luke: If he was telling the truth, do you think I would've let him go?
Yes, you're not escorting Joshua to the treasure's location, but following him with your tracking app.
After Luke finished interrogating Joshua, the two of you stayed there to have dinner.
As soon as it got dark, you and Luke pretended to be so tired that you both fell asleep.
Joshua thought he found a chance to escape, but he didn't realize that you two purposely let him escape.
