In the end, you decide to go with Artem to look for Jack and prevent him from taking revenge.

Thinking that Jack might break the terminal, you and Artem decide to use Luke's app to track him.

Artem: Why are you coming with me?

You: We're partners. You're the first person I think of when it comes to field investigation.

Artem: Looks like there's no way to change the workaholic image you have of me.

You: No, you're not a workaholic, you're super reliable!

Artem: If the chance arises, I'd like to travel with you, just... to relax.

Artem: So we're not always working when we're together.

You: If we can quickly solve the case of the Great Gold Heist, then we'll have time for vacation here!

Artem: Okay. I'll resolve this—

You: No, Mr. Wing, it's "we"!

Artem: Right. We'll resolve this matter with Jack.

You: Tell me about the case, then.

Artem: Sure. The person who asked me to investigate Jack is actually Darius.

You: Captain Morgan? How did he know something was wrong with Jack?

Artem: Nation A's police was responsible for investigating the Great Gold Heist.

Artem: The investigation results and related information were transferred to our country after the case was closed.

Artem: The chain of evidence for Joshua's conviction wasn't complete, so he was given a light sentence for good behavior.

Artem: Back then, Darius had already joined the criminal investigation team and was in charge of the case.

You: So, did Captain Morgan discover anything new when he studied the case files?

Artem: No. It was Jack who made Darius suspicious.

Artem then goes silent for a moment.

Artem: I said before that the police only arrested Joshua and the dying gang leader.

Artem: All the gang's valuables were considered as stolen goods. They had neither relatives nor the money to pay out civil compensation.

Artem: As victims, the Barlows felt that the issued sentence was too lenient, and they received no compensation.

You: ...

Artem: Jack's mother was sick at the time. He attended high school while his sister was in elementary school.

Artem: His father was the family's only caretaker and source of income.

Artem: Soon after the incident, Jack's mother died from the psychological stress.

You: ...

Artem: After that, Jack worked while he studied, and raised his sister until she graduated from university and got married.

Artem: Darius has cared a lot about Jack ever since the case. He even visits them during holidays without fail.

You: I see.

Artem: Not long ago, Darius discovered that Jack's work intersected with Joshua.

You: Intersected with Joshua?

Artem: Yes, and they met in secret.

Artem: Jack frequently goes to the detention center at Joshua's prison? What's going on?

Darius Morgan: I incidentally found out.

Darius Morgan: Last month, I went to the prison to ask an inmate about a case, and I bumped into Jack.

Darius Morgan: He said he wanted to write a report for a criminal documentary, so he came to interview the inmates.

Darius Morgan: Strangely enough, he was panicked and distracted when he was talking to me.

Darius Morgan: I was worried that something had happened, so I privately asked the prison guard about Barlow's recent work.

Artem: And that's how you heard about Joshua?

Darius Morgan: Exactly.

Darius Morgan: The prison guard was close to Jack. Said he's been doing interviews there for almost three years.

Darius Morgan: I saw the list of convicts he visited. Quite a fair number.

Darius Morgan: Jack didn't visit Joshua the most, but he was the closest with him.

Darius Morgan: That was the first time I heard that Jack's in charge of a crime documentary at his newspaper company.

Darius Morgan: I also asked his company. He needed to go to the prison to conduct interviews, but he was the one who decided the case.

Artem: You must have talked to Jack. What did he say?

Darius Morgan: He said he interviewed Joshua to learn how his father died.

Darius Morgan: He wanted to write a documentary about the Great Gold Heist to prevent future similar tragedies.

Artem: Sounds reasonable.

Darius Morgan: I would've accepted his explanation if it were only interviews, but...

Darius sighs and scratches his head in frustration. Darius Morgan: Last week, Jack heard about Joshua's commutation from the prison guard.

Darius Morgan: He then took annual leave from his company, saying he planned to join Pax's treasure hunt.

Darius Morgan: Nosta, the event venue, is where his father was killed.

Darius Morgan: Joshua disappeared after he was released... Sigh...

Artem: Are you worried that Joshua is going to the island, and Jack will follow to enact revenge?

Darius Morgan: Yeah. I don’t want to see that idiot go down a path of no return.

Artem: Darius is an experienced member of the force. He's very perceptive of criminal cases.

Artem: He understands Jack, so I also believe that Jack will be here for revenge.

You: Wait, I feel like something's wrong with what Darius said.

Artem: Correct. You're quite perceptive. There is a questionable point in Darius' story.
