General[edit | edit source]

Jasmine Kenders was a Stellis News reporter and the adoptive mother of Hugh Moss. She was actively looking into the water pollution case against Heirson Health Products at Opaline Village before her unfortunate death on the evening of September 12, 2029, in which her brakes failed, causing her to crash into a guardrail outside the village, after which she fell down the cliff. Her death is the focus of the X-NOTE case NXX-019.

Jasmine owned a white SUV manufactured by Pax Motors, license plate VD3F046. She was an orphan and had no family aside from Huey.[3] She lived in a loft apartment, which is currently managed by a specialized asset management agency until it can pass to Hugh, who is her only beneficiary.[4]

Story[edit | edit source]

After publishing the "Heirson Laboratory's Waste Pollution" article, she was sued by Heirson for defamation. The verdict of the lawsuit was passed on September 3: a loss due to Ian Johnson, a researcher at Forestry Testing Labs, who suddenly withdrew his testimony.[3] Jasmine was immediately terminated from Stellis News the following day due to violation of professional ethics and fabrication of news.[5] When she died in the car accident, Jasmine was at Opaline Village attempting to obtain more evidence from Irvin Soong to appeal again.[3]

The blame for Jasmine's death ultimately lies with both Hans Weller and Ian Johnson--Hans for swapping Jasmine's brake pad with a faulty one from his own vehicle, and Ian for spiking her water thermos with a hallucinogen that caused her fatal fall down the cliffside immediately after the crash.[6]

Jasmine's notes have continue to prove crucial to the investigation into Heirson after her death, as her careful compilation of the causes of death for employees who died on their production line and documentation of the Anti-Heirson Mutual Aid Group have provided important leads.[7]
