Eric Umezaki is a career financial officer in various Stellis businesses; he accepted a position as the Chief Financial Officer of Hyunda Finance approximately a year prior to the events of Luke's Story: Blossom Chapter 4. Despite his glamorous title, Eric suffered an addiction to online gambling in recent years, and the mansion he maintains to keep up the appearances expected of his position is rented. His boss, Daniel Song, is aware of Eric's financial situation and happily exploits it to force Eric to help with some of the less than legal operations of Hyunda Finance, such as the laundering of money through associated business Weller Auction House.[2]
Eric's work history and his position of trust and submission to Daniel Song is, in fact, all carefully cultivated as part of his real job as an undercover officer with the SCPD's Economic Crimes Department. The entire year Eric has spent working for Hyunda has been part of an operation to collect enough evidence to take the company's underground network down.[3]
During the final operation at Maple Lounge, Eric was shot, but he survived and retrieved the evidence required to have the entire gang detained, including proof of their money laundering, their client lists, and a list of all company properties.[4]
