Puzzle guide

This puzzle focuses on five elemental pedestals arranged in a 5-pointed shape and the cycles of birth and dominance that dictate them.

MC's half (top):

  • Clue 1: First pedestal, given as water. The dragon facing to the right suggests the clockwise direction is important.
  • Clue 2: Describes the cycle of elemental dominance: wood > earth > water > fire > metal > wood
  • Clue 3: Describes the cycle of elemental birth: wood > fire > earth > metal > water > wood
  • Clue 4: After obtaining the above clues, it's possible to set the four remaining pedestals to their correct elements based on the top pedestal (water), the given direction (clockwise) and the cycles above. Doing so will unlock the screen on the ML's half, which reveals the exit. For a more direct answer, see below.
  • Clue 5: The eastern tea table is a test to see if you remember which element earth trumps.
  • Clue 6: The western tea table is a test to see if you remember which element water is birthed by.

Male lead's half (bottom):

  • Artifact: After solving Clue 5, check the eastern guqin for Tabloid Picture icon.pngTabloid Picture.
  • Silk pouch: After solving Clue 6, check the western guqin for Silk Pouch icon.pngSilk Pouch.

Final pedestal configuration:

MC's half (top):

  • North: Water (Given)
  • East: Wood
  • West: Metal

Male lead's half (bottom):

  • East: Fire
  • West: Earth

Jade Plate Lock

The goal in this puzzle is to rotate the rings such that there is an unbroken line from the pearl at the top to the pearl in the center. It's recommended to start this puzzle from the outer ring as movement in some of the outer rings will also disturb the inner rings.
