Payton Way is the von Hagen family butler. He has served the von Hagen family for decades and helped raise Marius von Hagen and Giann von Hagen.
While Payton always follows the rules of his position when it comes to confidentiality and keeping family traditions, he also cares for his charges and is willing to intervene on their behalf through more subtle means, such as leaving clues or hints when he isn't allowed to directly reveal information. He is also shown to be sentimental, retrieving discarded belongings from the boys and secretly saving them for the right time, and to affectionately tease the family when they're flustered or making excuses.
Payton is shown to be skilled in housekeeping, cooking--particularly Chinese cuisine such as noodles, golden fish balls, and desserts--and in winemaking.[1][2][3]
