Martyn was a project director in a subsidiary company of the Pax Group. He was fired due to being falsely implicated in the case relating to the use of hazardous plastic materials in children's tableware products.

During Marius von Hagen's tour of the subsidiary at which Martyn worked, Martyn was noted to be the most organized and detail-oriented employee at the company. He was the employee who discovered the issue with the defective products and reported the issue directly to Marius, who had the entire batch recalled immediately. However, the internal followup insinuated Martyn himself let the substandard products release for personal gain, and Martyn and his family were doxxed and harassed by concerned parents despite no harm having been done.

Martyn's title of Project Director was in name only; in reality, he had no control over pre-production and only oversaw quality control. However, he did show some negligence in his role that led to the hazardous product's release to market. Martyn's awareness of this fact contributed to his urgency to have the product recalled, which his superiors blocked, necessitating he go directly to Marius.

Martyn has a son who was bullied out of school and helped him make a video exposing Pax's actions, as well as a wife who threatened to divorce him during the controversy.
