Summary
With the performance canceled,
Vyn and the
Main Character leave their statements and leave, but they're stopped by
Darius Morgan. Darius confirms
Crystal Wu's status as Vyn's patient and says she's suspected of poisoning fellow performer Sarai Brady, who is now comatose. Vyn explains Crystal's condition: mild schizophrenia in which she believes she is really Christine performing for a real, unknown Phantom.
When Darius recounts Crystal's gleeful confession in her dressing room, Vyn asks to see her alone backstage. He is only able to coax Crystal into saying her deeds had proven to the Phantom that she, not Sarai, was the real Christine. He concludes someone has taken the role of her Phantom and used her condition to coerce or influence her to attempt murder, and he asks Darius to lie to the troupe that Sarai has died and interrogate them all in a specific way to discover who is acting through Crystal.
