|summary=Marius, putting on a front of playboy ignorance, questions Matthew Richter about the gunshot he heard. When the conversation turns toward Gladiolus Valley Research Center, Matthew demands that Marius stop pretending, while Marius maintains his story of having been at a beach party in the mountains, frustrating Matthew. Marius is asked to leave. Afterward, Matthew turns to Vyn, who has been hiding in a cabinet due to his injured shoulder. When Matthew tries to mock Vyn for keeping quiet under fear of suspicion, Vyn points out that Matthew would have looked far more suspicious, then criticizes Matthew's childishness in using an airsoft gun. Matthew threatens to lock Vyn in the cabinet until he dies, but Vyn points out that Ogier Wechsler escaped and can easily retrieve him.
