Summary

At an unknown lab, an unnamed older man discusses with Jerome Adams that Tyson Turner has decided to "take down that entire investigation team." The team is compared to flies, and the pair discusses an unknown test subject, with the older man instructing Jerome to "keep those flies off him."

The main character attends her first team meeting at the NXX Investigation Team headquarters, though it is dominated by an argument between Artem and Marius about whether Artem's mentor, Neil Hume, was involved in Giann von Hagen's disappearance. Eventually, the meeting turns to the subject of X03A, which has been found to contain the drug NXX. After a detailed explanation about NXX and how it relates to the X-NOTE cases, Marius mentions that a special investigator will be joining the team as of today, at which point Luke arrives.
